Did you ever inherit a family chair that needs attention? This pretty little chair had a hand embroidered seat with a tear right down the middle. So, we reupholstered just the seat to match the plum color in the flowers. Turning the embroidery on the back of the chair into the focal point. Another antique chair saved.
Fabric: Pindler Firenze, Plumwine

Sometimes we read in home decorating magazines the term Greige or Gray Goods? What is it? Some refer to it as a color but, it is actually a fabric. The official definition from Dictionary.com is: It’s a “woven fabric as it comes from the loom and before it has been submitted to the finishing process”. How to use it?

You thought it might be fun to reupholster your chaise. Taking the old fabric off wasn’t so bad. But when you began cutting fabric you realized this job was a bit more than you could handle. What do you do? Not to worry. Do what this client did. Keep all old fabric pieces, if you can, and take everything you have to you’re upholsterer. If you’re in the greater Phoenix area, give us a call. We’d love to help.

For the last 12 months i cared for my wonderful mother-in-Law. We hung out together, went to dinner together, enjoyed each others company until her disease ended her life on June 30, 2015. My business took 2nd place, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I feel so privileged and fortunate to have been the one to care for her every need in the last days for her life.
So, now it’s back to working full time in my drapery and upholstery workroom. Five chairs awaiting to be reupholstered, pillows and shower curtains waiting to be made. Whew, I’ve got my work cut out for me. Stay tuned. I will be posting pictures.

We just delivered these beautiful dining chairs. This is a great example of using two different fabrics when upholstering chairs. In this case, the seats were upholstered in a gorgeous tan leather cow hide. And, to take it up a notch, 2 inch nails were added to complete the look.

Looking for a way to protect you and your plants in your Atrium? Here is a shade we did using Sunbrella fabrics & Helser Brothers French poles attached to the facia board. Not only does it lower the temperature in the atrium with shade, it also lowers the temperature in the adjacent rooms. Let us know if we can make a shade for you.
